Rs47 Billion Relief Plan for Low-Income Families

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved a Rs47 billion relief plan for vulnerable citizens.
The initiative targets nearly 4.2 million families across urban and rural districts.
Government data shows that around one crore people will benefit during Ramadan.

Each eligible family will receive Rs10,000 in direct financial support.
Registered ration card holders will also get Rs10,000 this month instead of the previous amount.
Authorities aim to reduce financial pressure during rising food costs.

Ramadan Nighaban Package Distribution System

The Ramadan Nighaban package uses a card-based system for transparent delivery.
District administrations will distribute cards through door-to-door verification.
Cardholders can withdraw funds through Bank of Punjab agents and One Link ATMs.

The government has established 136 activation centers across the province.
People can also activate cards at Bank of Punjab ATMs.
Officials introduced a digital dashboard to track complaints and service quality.

Ration Cards, Markets, and Price Monitoring

Punjab will operate 65 convenience markets in 30 districts during Ramadan.
Fifty markets will remain permanent, while 15 will operate as mobile units.
Temporary Ramadan markets will also open in 11 additional districts.

A provincial monitoring room will supervise prices, hygiene, and security.
The system will use over 1,250 cameras for real-time oversight.
Authorities will coordinate with flour, chicken, grocery, and ghee suppliers.

Dastarkhwan and Community Support Measures

The government will set up eight β€œNigahban Dastarkhwan” centers in each tehsil.
Each center will serve daily iftar to 2,000 fasting individuals.
Meals will include dates, milk, fruit, and cooked food items.

Commissioners and deputy commissioners will supervise operations daily.
The Punjab Food Authority will monitor food quality throughout Ramadan.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz stressed collective responsibility during Ramadan.
She urged officials to ensure dignity, transparency, and efficiency.
