According to sources in the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Water Resources will be merged, the summary of merging the two ministries has entered the final stages of preparation.
After these ministries are merged, all the subsidiaries including Energy, WAPDA, and NTDC will be able to come together.

Sources say that the two ministries have been working together before, the minister and secretary of both ministries used to be the same.
According to the sources of the Ministry of Water Resources, having a ministry will save billions of rupees annually.
Sources have said that with this merger, additional staff, transport, and other employees will also be reduced, and the speed of water and power projects will be accelerated.
Sources in the Ministry of Water Resources also say that the federal cabinet is considering merging several other ministries as well.
