Casio is introducing the G-SHOCK Urban Utility series, a new lineup of durable and eco-conscious watches designed for modern urban lifestyles. Launching in November 2024, this series features four models that prioritize both resilience and sustainable materials, aligning with Casio’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
The G-SHOCK Urban Utility series consists of two model types: the DW-5610UU and GA-B2100LUU. Both models feature biomass plastic for their bezels and bands, an eco-friendly alternative to traditional materials. Available in green and gray, the DW-5610UU showcases a layered bezel design and an inverted LCD display for easy readability in low-light conditions. It also includes a Super Illuminator LED backlight to further enhance visibility.
The GA-B2100LUU models, offered in beige and gray, add a two-tone, dual-molded bezel that gives visual depth, while a carbon-fiber-reinforced case increases durability without adding weight. Both models incorporate Casio’s Carbon Core Guard and offer water resistance up to 20 ATM, making them ideal for both rugged outdoor adventures and daily wear.
Packed with functionality, the Urban Utility series supports Bluetooth connectivity, enabling users to sync with the “CASIO WATCHES” app. This allows automatic time adjustments, access to World Time in up to 300 cities, reminders, and even a phone finder feature. The series also employs Tough Solar technology, powering the watches through solar energy. In power-saving mode, these models can run for up to 18 months without additional solar exposure.
The DW-5610UU models are priced at 15,400 yen (about $101), while the GA-B2100LUU models retail at 25,850 yen (approximately $170). The watches are set to debut in Japan, with details on global availability pending. Casio also recently launched a limited-edition Casiotron TRN-50ZE-1A to mark 50 years since the original Casiotron’s debut in 1974.
