Gojal Subdivision Leads Cleanliness Drive, Collects Six Tons of Waste

Massive Cleanliness Drive Held in Gojal Subdivision to Promote Environmental Sustainability

Gojal, Hunza – In a commendable effort to safeguard the region’s environment, the Gojal Subdivision Administration, in collaboration with local partners, successfully organized a large-scale cleanliness campaign across the scenic areas of Ayeenabad, Shishkat, and the boating area.

The campaign, which mobilized the active participation of nearly 400 community members, highlighted the growing awareness and commitment among locals to maintain their surroundings and protect the natural beauty of the region. Volunteers, including students, environmental activists, and families, enthusiastically participated in the drive, setting a powerful example of collective civic responsibility.

Six Tons of Waste Collected and Disposed of Efficiently

During the campaign, participants collected around six tons of waste, reflecting the scale of pollution affecting these popular tourism spots. The collected garbage was promptly transported and disposed of using vehicles provided by the Waste Management Company (WMC), ensuring environmentally friendly handling and proper disposal practices.

Local officials expressed appreciation for the collaborative spirit demonstrated by the residents. A senior member of the administration stated, “This campaign is not just about cleaning our towns today but also about instilling a long-term sense of responsibility. It’s inspiring to see such active participation from the community.”

A Commitment to Environmental Preservation

The involvement of both locals and tourists in the campaign underscores the importance of environmental preservation in Gojal, a region known for its breathtaking landscapes and pristine waters. With tourism on the rise, such initiatives have become increasingly essential to prevent pollution and maintain the ecological balance.

“We need to keep our environment clean not only for ourselves but also for future generations,” a community volunteer remarked. “Preserving the beauty of our region requires continuous efforts from every member of society.”

Way Forward for Sustainable Tourism

The Gojal Subdivision Administration plans to conduct similar initiatives in the future, focusing on public awareness and sustainable waste management solutions. Local partners have pledged continued support, emphasizing that cleanliness and environmental care are key to promoting sustainable tourism in the region.

As the campaign concludes, the message remains clear: A cleaner Gojal is possible when everyone works together. The success of this initiative has laid the foundation for future collaborations to protect the natural charm of Hunza and its surrounding areas.
