In an inspiring move for heritage conservation, Pakistan’s Department of Archaeology and Museums recently organized a specialized training program on metal coin preservation, partnering with the Korean Cultural Heritage Foundation. This collaboration introduced advanced techniques to protect metal artifacts from deterioration, marking a significant step in preserving Pakistan’s historical heritage.
The Director General of Archaeology in Punjab, Zaheer Abbas Malik, commended the initiative, emphasizing the importance of adopting modern conservation methods. The training saw active participation from Archaeological Chemist Waqas Ahmed, who plans to implement these methods within the department’s labs.
Such programs underscore Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its cultural legacy. By adopting cutting-edge preservation techniques, the department is ensuring that Pakistan’s invaluable historical artifacts remain well-preserved for future generations.
