Iqbal Day Celebration at Iqbal Manzil

On November 9, a special ceremony was held at Iqbal Manzil in Sialkot to celebrate Iqbal Day. Organized by the Directorate General of Archaeology, Punjab, this event honored the birthplace of Pakistan’s national poet and philosopher, Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Known for his influential contributions to the ideology of Pakistan and his vision for a progressive Muslim society, Dr. Iqbal’s legacy is celebrated every year on this day.

Muneeb Iqbal, the grandson of Dr. Iqbal, joined the Assistant Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner of Sialkot, and Mr. Nazir Ahmed, the caretaker of Iqbal Manzil, among other distinguished guests at the event. The ceremony included a symbolic cake-cutting to pay tribute to Iqbal’s impact on Pakistan and the broader Muslim world.

Participants were given a guided tour of Iqbal Manzil, which holds historical significance as the place where Dr. Iqbal was born and spent his early years. This very site is where Iqbal’s vision for an independent, progressive nation took root—a vision that inspired the creation of Pakistan. The tour provided attendees with insight into Dr. Iqbal’s early life and the environment that influenced his philosophical journey.
