Popular Pakistani actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has opened up about his struggle with kidney disease during childhood. In a recent interview that went viral on social media, Abbasi revealed that he was diagnosed with nephritis, a serious condition affecting kidney function.
Hamza’s Early Struggle with Nephritis
The actor shared that he was between 8 and 12 years old when he suffered from the illness. He described those years as extremely painful and emotionally draining. According to Abbasi, nephritis can cause kidney failure without any clear reason, making it a frightening experience for a child.
Faith, Prayers, and Recovery
Reflecting on the difficult time, Abbasi recalled how his mother prayed continuously for his recovery. “My mother spread her prayer mat and cried before Allah for my health,” he said. “Thank God, I was blessed with healing.”
His faith and his mother’s prayers, he added, played a major role in his recovery.
From CSS Officer to Actor
During the interview, Hamza Ali Abbasi also spoke about his mother’s dream for him to serve the country. He made a promise to her that if he passed the CSS exam, he would not pursue a job afterward. To his mother’s joy, he passed with excellent marks.
He even completed his training and joined the police department, but his heart was elsewhere. Despite his mother’s strong insistence on continuing the job, Abbasi wanted to follow his passion for acting.
Pursuing a Dream in the Entertainment Industry
After much persuasion, Abbasi convinced his mother to let him pursue a career in the entertainment industry. His decision marked the start of a successful acting journey that made him one of Pakistan’s most respected television and film stars.
