Damascus (Web Desk): Following Lebanon, Israel has continued its attacks on Damascus, where an airstrike on a residential building claimed the lives of seven civilians, including women and children.
According to Arab media, Syria’s Ministry of Defense reported that a densely populated neighborhood in the Mazzeh district of Damascus was targeted, resulting in the death of nine people, including women and children, and injuring 11 others.
Iranian television denied reports that Quds Force Deputy Commander Reza Falah Zadeh and Jihad Movement Secretary Ziad Nakhaleh were present at the targeted location in Damascus.
The Iranian Embassy in Damascus also denied reports that Iranians were killed in the Mazzeh colony attack. Syria’s Ministry of Defense stated that the Israeli enemy launched an airstrike from the direction of occupied Golan, targeting a residential building in the Mazzeh neighborhood.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the Israeli strike targeted a building in Damascus linked to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and Hezbollah. Among the dead were two non-Syrian citizens.
The Observatory confirmed that Israel monitored the targeted elements in the Mazzeh colony in Damascus. Footage from the site shows a large building partially engulfed in smoke, with debris scattered in front of it.
A reporter on the scene described how the strike destroyed the first three floors of a building in a crowded residential area, with over 20 parked cars also wrecked.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces continued their assaults on Gaza and Lebanon, with 17 displaced Palestinians sheltering in a refugee camp in Gaza killed in a bombing.
