Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Supports Punjab Province Move
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari spoke to media leaders in Lahore. He cautiously addressed political dynamics in Punjab. He praised the provincial government led by Maryam Nawaz. The PPP chairman backed the move to create a new province in Punjab. Consensus already exists in the National Assembly, he noted. He stressed that agreed-upon provinces should be created first. The Punjab Assembly passed a resolution for this new province.
Call for Dialogue and Political Reconciliation
The PPP chairman stressed that reconciliation is the only path forward. Political stability requires dialogue and compromise. An environment without communication deepens crises, he warned. Consequently, all political actors must unite for stability. He confirmed he holds no personal differences with Imran Khan. He simply disagrees with his methods. Furthermore, he suggested that political rivals should visit Sindh more often. He lamented that they do not tolerate his presence in Punjab.
Critique of Punjab Governance and Constitutional Limits
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari offered veiled criticism against the Punjab government. He referenced the passage of a local government law. He noted that Sindh’s local government framework remains stronger. The PPP chairman believes a single parliament can pass only two constitutional amendments. Specifically, he asserted that the Constitution should not be repeatedly amended. He pointed out the Punjab Governor lacks sufficient powers. However, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider still works with dedication.
PPP Organizational Reshuffle in Punjab
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is currently on a four-day visit to Lahore. He plans to reorganize the party’s organizational deck in Punjab. The reshuffle will affect district and divisional chapters. This action expects to assign new roles to 63 party workers. The PPP has no current intention of taking ministries in Punjab. For more details, you can review the PPP Party Constitution
On the Future of Leadership
