Huawei has officially launched the FreeBuds SE 4 wireless earbuds, marking the first model in the SE lineup to feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Available in White and Black, the earbuds are priced at £59 in the UK and $79 globally.
ANC with Multi-Mode Support
The standout feature of the FreeBuds SE 4 is its multi-mode ANC offering noise reduction of up to 24dB. Users can switch between Ultra, General, and Cozy modes depending on the environment. With a three-microphone system, the earbuds ensure clearer voice calls and improved sound isolation.
Audio & Design
Huawei has included 10mm dynamic drivers with support for SBC, AAC, and mSBC codecs, ensuring rich and balanced audio quality. In terms of design, the FreeBuds SE 4 closely resembles the FreeBuds SE 3, while remaining extremely lightweight at just 4.3g per earbud.
Battery & Connectivity
The FreeBuds SE 4 offers up to 50 hours of total playback with the charging case. On a single charge, users can expect:
- 7 hours playback with ANC enabled
- 10 hours playback without ANC
Each earbud carries a 41mAh battery, while the charging case includes a 510mAh cell. Charging is supported via USB Type-C, delivering quick top-ups when needed.
For connectivity, the earbuds support Bluetooth 5.4 and tap gesture controls, ensuring seamless pairing and intuitive use. With an IP54 rating, the earbuds are also resistant to dust and splashes, making them suitable for workouts and outdoor use.
Market Positioning
At its price point, the Huawei FreeBuds SE 4 is positioned as an affordable ANC option, competing directly with entry-level models from Samsung and Xiaomi. With long battery life, IP54 durability, and multi-mode ANC, these earbuds bring flagship-like features to budget-conscious users.
