The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a high-level flood alert for Ganda Singhwala in the Sutlej River, where the water flow has exceeded 3.5 lakh cusecs, creating an extraordinary flood situation.

According to the alert, continuous rains combined with the possible release of additional water from India may further worsen the situation in the coming days.

The civil administration and rescue agencies in Kasur and adjoining areas have been placed on high alert to deal with any emergency. Rescue and relief operations are being closely monitored to ensure the safety of residents.

As per the directives of the Prime Minister, the NDMA is extending full assistance to the provincial government to strengthen flood preparedness and response measures.

Authorities have advised the public to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary movement in flood-prone areas, and strictly follow the safety guidelines and instructions issued by the local administration.
