Government Announces Reduction in Petroleum Prices

The federal government has officially announced a fresh reduction in petroleum prices in Pakistan, bringing relief to consumers.

Petrol and Diesel Prices Slashed

The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs 2.07 per litre, while high-speed diesel now costs Rs 3.40 less per litre.
After the latest adjustment, the new petrol price stands at Rs 247.03 per litre, and diesel is priced at Rs 246.29 per litre.

These revised petroleum prices in Pakistan will be effective from 12 a.m. tonight, according to the official notification.

Light Diesel and Kerosene Also Become Cheaper

In addition to petrol and diesel, the government has reduced light diesel by Rs 1.30 per litre, setting its new price at Rs 140.90.
Kerosene oil has also seen a decrease of Rs 3.57 per litre, bringing its new price to Rs 154.90 per litre.

This is another move aimed at stabilizing fuel costs and easing financial pressure on the public.

Continued Relief Since June 2024

Between June 1 and October 1, 2024, the price of petrol dropped by Rs 21.23 per litre.
Similarly, diesel prices were reduced by Rs 18.67 per litre during the same period.

The federal government’s decision to lower petroleum prices in Pakistan reflects efforts to pass on global market benefits to citizens.
