Samsung Confirms XR Headset Launch Date

Samsung is preparing to enter the extended reality (XR) market with its first headset, codenamed Project Moohan. According to a new report from South Korea, the headset will officially launch on September 29, 2025, during the next Galaxy Unpacked event.

The report further notes that South Korea will be the first country to get the device, with sales beginning October 13. Gradual availability in other international markets is expected afterward.

Samsung XR Headset Price vs Apple Vision Pro

Pricing details suggest that Samsung is targeting a competitive segment. Project Moohan is reported to cost between KRW 2,500,000 and KRW 4,000,000, which translates to roughly $1,790 – $2,865.

This makes it more affordable than Apple’s Vision Pro, which launched at $3,499 (Apple Vision Pro). Samsung’s strategy could help attract a wider audience as it builds a foothold in the XR market.

Samsung’s Sales Goal for Project Moohan

Reports indicate that Samsung aims to ship around 100,000 units of the headset in 2025. While ambitious, this target will depend on demand, developer adoption, and how well the device integrates with the Galaxy ecosystem.
