The dengue cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are rising rapidly, with 80 new infections reported in the past 24 hours. The situation has become a growing concern for health officials as hospitals see more admissions daily.
80 New Dengue Infections Reported
According to the provincial health department, 80 new dengue cases were confirmed across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday. During the same period, 29 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the province.
The total number of active dengue cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has now reached 367. Out of these, 42 patients are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals.
District-Wise Breakdown of Dengue Cases
District data shows that Nowshera and Mardan each have 13 active dengue patients. Charsadda has seven, Kohat six, and Swabi two cases.
The health authorities are closely monitoring these areas, where dengue larvae have been found in several breeding sites.
Over 5,000 Dengue Cases Reported This Year
So far this year, 5,150 dengue cases have been reported across the province. Among them, 1,848 patients were hospitalised due to severe symptoms. Fortunately, 4,781 patients have fully recovered after treatment.
Health experts have warned that the increasing dengue cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could worsen if preventive measures are not taken immediately.
Two Dengue Deaths Reported in the Province
The provincial health department has confirmed two dengue-related deaths this year. Authorities are urging the public to take necessary precautions, such as eliminating stagnant water and using mosquito repellents.
Public awareness campaigns are being strengthened to control the spread of the dengue outbreak in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa before it escalates further.
