The Town Under Siege
The Abandons is Netflix’s new Western drama. The series introduced a dangerous feud immediately. This feud exists between the wealthy Van Ness family and the poor Abandons. In the premiere, Fiona killed Willem Van Ness. The Abandons agreed to keep this death a secret.
The Abandons Episode 2 starts early in the morning. Mayor Victor Nibley suffers a bear attack. The mayor’s body is soon discovered. It lies in the middle of the town square. Police decide to hunt the bear in retaliation. They approach the Abandons for help.
Hunting the Bear, Hiding the Secret
Albert, Elias, and Garret join the difficult bear hunt. Albert must mediate the tension between Elias and Garret. Elias and Trisha continue their secret relationship. However, they are not hiding it very well. Roache connects with Trisha over piano music.
Constance attempts to fake a truce with Fiona. They must work together on the bear hunt. Fiona remains highly suspicious of Constance. The men eventually use a pig as bait. They successfully track and shoot the bear offscreen. This event provides temporary relief.
Constance Pulls a Fast One
Fiona soon discovers a new betrayal. Constance catches Roache and Trisha at the piano. Roache gives Constance no news about Willem. He has completely vanished. Constance later informs Trisha that she hired Roache. She hired him specifically to find Willem. Constance worries about her family’s wealth. Mr. Vanderbilt considers pulling his stake.
Meanwhile, Fiona and Dahlia entertain Father Killian. The priest received a promotion. He will visit Angel’s Ridge less often now. He tries offering Fiona monetary gifts. She sharply refuses these gifts.
The Priest’s Treachery
Fiona and her group rush after Father Killian. They discover his promotion was a lie. He also fabricated the source of his new fortune. He secretly teamed up with Constance. This priest has turned against the Abandons. Elias holds him at gunpoint. However, Killian rides off quickly with their secrets. This betrayal leaves Fiona facing massive new threats. The Abandons Episode 2 sets up intense conflict for the future.
